SK Energy signed an agreement in operation and maintenance services with Singapore's Jurong Aromatics Corporation (JAC) in Singapore. Under the US$ 35 million agreement, SK Energy has agreed to provide services in three major areas including production technologies, operational skills and maintenance technologies.
Under the agreement, SK Energy will provide operation and maintenance services for five and a half years from January 2008 to June 2013. SK Energy plans to dispatch to Singapore a total of 14 experts with more than ten years of experience from the company's Ulsan Complex. The period may be extended upon agreement of both sides.
JAC is currently constructing a major petrochemical plant in Singapore's Jurong Island. Upon completion by 2011, the aromatics facility will have an annual capacity of four million tons of para-xylene, ortho-xylene, benzene and other petroleum products.
