WorleyParsons announced that its Malaysian joint venture, Ranhill WorleyParsons, has been awarded a three year Maintenance Engineering Services Contract by Sarawak Shell Bhd. The Contract will have expected revenue of US$60million.
The Contract will be serviced from the Miri operation with work sharing back to the Kuala Lumpur hub office in mainland Malaysia. The scope of the Contract is expected to require up to 250 personnel in Miri.
This Contract is of particular strategic importance to WorleyParsons reinforcing a long standing relationship with Shell. The new Contract aligns the Malaysian service delivery system with other similar Shell contracts in the Asia Pacific region. Sarawak Shell has recognised the synergy and benefits that can be gained from local service delivery capabilities and regional support from within the Asia Pacific region.
Services will be extended from the existing engineering design service to include asset management, technical integrity, construction and maintenance planning and a range of specialist services to assist Sarawak Shell in completing an extensive work programme over the next few years.
