Iran Plans to Export Oil from Sea of Oman

First Vice President Eshaq Jahangiri called for export of some parts of Irans petroleum abroad through Sea of Oman as an alternative to the Persian Gulf. First vice president made the remarks after visiting under construction projects of steel and petrochemical of Makran in Chabahar on Thursday.

Parts of Irans oil should be exported from Southeastern Makran seashores, Jahangiri said.

He called export of some parts of oil through Makran seashores strategic for Iran.

Government will do its best to develop the Makran seashore and construct the ports infrastructure including the railroad and industrial faculties needed, Jahangiri added.

He urged financing the Chabahar-Iranshahr-Zahedan railroad as well as the regions petrochemical complex.

Makran is a semi-desert coastal strip in the south of Sindh and Balochistan, in Pakistan and Iran, along the coast of the Persian Gulf and the Gulf of Oman.
