Well-known Omani firm Al Hassan Engineering Co SAOG (AHEC) has won a $20 million deal from Petroleum Development Oman (PDO) covering the provision of Construction and Commission support for the Saih Nihayda Condensate Stabilisation Plant (SNCP). The scope also includes some residual Engineering & Procurement for the project, the company said in a filing to the Capital Market Authority (CMA).
“AHEC will immediately mobilise all the necessary resources and construction equipment in order to undertake this project on a fast track basis and would add In-Country Value (ICV) wherever possible. The contract duration is approximately 16 months,” it stated.
The contract is the latest in a string of awards bagged by the company, which is the first contracting firm to be listed on the Muscat Securities Market, in recent months. It is undertaking site preparations for the for the prestigious Liwa Plastics project as a subcontractor to the CTCI — CB&I joint venture. AHEC is currently maintaining an order backlog of RO 60 million (comprising RO 32 million worth of orders in Oman, and the balance RO 28 million in the United Arab Emirates).
Among the contracts currently under implementation pertain to the Zauliya Gas Plant of PDO; the Sohar Refinery Improvement Project (SRIP) as a subcontractor to the Daelim-Petrofac JV; the Rabab Harweel EPC Power Plant and HRSG Project for PDO; the Ghaba North Redevelopment Project for PDO; the Mabrook PDO Pipeline Project.
In neighbouring UAE, around a dozen orders awarded to Al Hassan Engineering are currently in various stages of implementation.
