Total production in pre-salt rose 6.2% in the previous month

Total production of oil and natural gas in Brazil in July totaled 3.255 million of barrels of oil equivalent per day (boe / d), surpassing the previous record achieved in June 2016, when they were produced 3.21 MMboe / d. Oil production was approximately 2.581 million barrels per day (bbl / d), an increase of 0.9% compared to the previous month and 4.7% over the same month in 2015. The oil production He surpassed the record reached in June 2016, when they produced 2,558 MMbbl / d. Since natural gas production totaled 107.2 million cubic meters per day (m3 / d), surpassing the previous record of 103.5 MMm3 / d obtained in June 2016, representing an increase of 3.5% compared to June 2016 and 12.4% compared to July 2015.

Subsalt

The production of pre-salt, coming from 65 wells was approximately 1,060 million barrels of oil per day (bbl / d) of oil and 40.8 million cubic meters per day (m / d) of natural gas, totaling approximately 1.317 million of barrels of oil equivalent per day (boe / d), an increase of 6.2% over the previous month. The production of oil in the subsalt exceeded about one million barrels per day obtained in June 2016 and natural gas exceeded 38.1 MMm3 produced in June 2016. Total production also surpassed the record of the previous month, 1,240 MMboe / d. The wells of the "pre-salt" are those whose production is carried out in the geological horizon called pre-salt fields located in the area defined in section IV of the caput of art. 2 of Law No. 12,351, 2010.

Flaring

The natural gas utilization in the month was 95.9%. The gas burns in July was 4.4 million cubic meters per day (m3 / d), a 24% increase compared to the previous month and 9.6% over the same month in 2015.

Poducing fields

The offshore fields produced 94.2% oil and 76.6% of natural gas. The production took place in 8,818 wells, 794 sea and land 8,024. The fields operated by Petrobras produced 93.4% of the oil and natural gas.

The Lula field, in the Santos Basin, was the largest producer of oil and natural gas, producing on average 558,200 bbl / d of oil and 24.6 million cubic meters / day of natural gas.

Strait in Potiguar basin, had the largest number of producing wells: 1,074. Marlim field in the Campos Basin, was the maritime field with the largest number of producing wells: 62.

The FPSO city Mangaratiba producing the Lula field, produced by means of 6 wells connected to it, 186,500 BOE / UPE was of (Production Stationary Unit) with greater production.

Land mature basins (fields / long-term testing of the basins of Espirito Santo, Potiguar, Reconcavo, Sergipe and Alagoas) produced 154,100 boe / d and 126,100 bbl / d of oil and 4.4 million m3 / d of natural gas. Of this total, 149.5 thousand barrels of oil equivalent per day were produced by Petrobras and 4,600 boe / d by grants not operated by Petrobras, with 384 boe / d in Alagoas, 1,760 boe / d in Bahia, 58 boe / d in the Holy Spirit, 2,386 boe / d in Rio Grande do Norte and 14 boe / d in Sergipe.

Other information

In July 2016, 296 concessions operated by 24 companies, were responsible for domestic production. Of these, 81 are offshore concessions and 215 land. Of the total production concessions, one is in exploratory activity and producing through Extended Well Test (EWT) and seven are related to areas of contracts containing marginal accumulations.
