The Board of Directors of Petroleos Mexicanos authorized the company sent to the Secretary of Energy application migration partner for exploration and extraction of Ayin and Batsil fields in shallow waters of the Campeche. The fields are located in a water depth of 160 meters and have total 3P reserves by 281 million barrels of oil equivalent (46 million related to proved reserves, 77 to 158 probable and possible).
This request is in line with the strategy announced by Pemex to form alliances with other companies to complement their investment capabilities, execution and production, as well as take advantage of the technological advantages of its partners to establish itself as a highly competitive company.
Petroleos Mexicanos has the lowest costs of production globally in shallow waters and now, thanks to alliances, align their operation to international best practices for the benefit of the Mexican state.

On July 27 the National Hydrocarbons Commission approved the bidding rules for assignments with partner Petroleos Mexicanos in Trion deepwater block, the result will be announced on December 5 as part of the round 1.4 federal government.
