The construction and start-up project led by AESA included detailed engineering, logistics and provision of supplies, equipment manufacturing, electromechanical construction and assembly, pre-commissioning and commissioning assistance and start-up.
Loma Campana's Oil Treatment Plant (PTC), built by AESA for YPF, allows the company to produce the crude oil the company produces in the Loma Campana Este and Loma Campana Oeste fields. With its processing capacity of 8,000 m3 a day, it is one of the largest in the Neuquen Basin and will be able to process the crude from nearby fields.
AESA as the main contractor led the work of a team that involved about 30 subcontractors and suppliers who, together, invested more than two million man hours during the 30 months demanded for the development of the project, with a total investment by YPF - owner of the plant - more than 200 million dollars.
The development of the Loma Campana PTC project involved the manufacture and assembly in the field of 1,000 tons of equipment and 400 tons of metallic structures, in addition to assembly for which 75,000 inches of total welds were used. 150 km of cable and 700 instruments were also deployed. On the other hand, 9,000 m3 of reinforced concrete were needed, of which 3,500 m3 were pre-cast off-site.
It should be noted that the Loma Campana PTC project had peaks of almost 500 people working simultaneously in the construction and was carried out without incident with loss of days or operational incidents.
