Iran is to launch 5 new petrochemical projects within the remaining two month of the current calendar year to March 20, a senior petrochemical official said.
Managing Director of National Petrochemical Company (NPC) Marziyeh Shahdaei said on Sunday that 4 projects will come on-stream during the Fajr Decade, marked as the anniversary of the victory of the Islamic Revolution, one by the yearend, and three others early next year.
Phase II of Kavian Petchem Plant (with 1mt/y output), phase II of Morvarid plant (with 550,000 tons of annual output), and Entekhab Plant (with 250,000 tons of output per annum) will be launched during the decade and phase II of Pardis Petrochemical Plant (with one million tons of output per annum) will become operational by the yearend, she said.
Iranian petrochemical plants can supply over 64 million tons of petrochemicals annually which will reach 100 million tons within the next 5 years, she said.
Iran has exported 9 million dollars of petrochemicals since the beginning of the year.
