SHI Wins $1.27bn Order to Build Large Offshore Platform

SHI won a contract to build a Semi-Submersible production platform for GoM Mad Dog Field, the first order among Korean shipyards in 2017. SHI revealed that they are the winner of an international bid to build a KRW 1.5 trillion (US$ 1.27bn) FPU for a US operator.

The FPU weighs 58,000 tons with capacity of 110,000 barrels of oil and 25mcf of gas. SHI is a proven offshore solution market leader with track record including Ichthys CPF and Prelude FLNG. They are the only shipyard to win offshore newbuild contracts since 2015.
