Gulf Keystone Announces Completion of Seismic Acquisition Programme in Kurdistan

Gulf Keystone Petroleum Limited announced that its subsidiary Gulf Keystone Petroleum International Limited in partnership with Kalegran Ltd, a subsidiary of MOL Hungarian Oil and Gas Public Limited Company and Texas Keystone Inc., has completed the acquisition of 171 kilometres of 2D seismic data in the Shaikan Block, Kurdistan.

The seismic programme which began on 02 March 2008 was acquired using a combination of vibrator and dynamite sources. The programme was completed early and under budget.

The Shaikan Block is situated near the city of Dihok, approximately 85 kms North-West of Erbil and covers an area of 283 square kms.

Todd Kozel, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, commented: "The seismic data is now being processed and interpretation will start shortly. The interpreted seismic will be used to select a drilling location".
