Iranian Minister of Petroleum Bijan Zangeneh voiced Iran"s readiness to enter into talks with all oil companies including American ones for developing oil and gas projects.
Following a meeting with visiting South Korean Minister of Land, Infrastructure and Transport (MOLIT) Kim Hyun-mee in Tehran on Tuesday, Zangeneh said Iran is ready to enter into talks with all oil companies including American ones in oil and gas projects.
Reacting to US President Donald Trump"s recent remarks regarding profitability of oil projects for European companies in Iran, Mr. Zangeneh said, "If Mr. Trump is so upset that Europeans may win profits for cooperating with Iran, why does he prevent American companies [to deal with Iran, then]?"
He said it is the US government that has banned American companies from joining in Iran"s oil industry, adding, "We have no restrictions for cooperating and negotiating with American companies for developing our oil and gas reserves; we can start talk right from tomorrow if they wish so."
"Mr. Trump need not express such concerns," he further said.
