Vice-President of International Association of Drilling Contractors Visited SOCAR -AQS

On October 29, the Vice-president of the International Association of Drilling Contractors (IADC) for international development, Mr. Mike Dubos, and the representative of the regional head of the Middle East and Africa in Dubai, Hisham Zebay, were invited by SOCAR-AQS for an official visit for 4 days to Azerbaijan.

At meetings in SOCAR-AQS, IADC representatives discussed the on-going drilling projects of the company with the General Director Ramin Isayev, exchanged views and got acquainted with various presentations.

IADC vice-president Mr Mike DuBose stated his high appreciation of industrial development in Azerbaijan, as well as the training of personnel in higher education institutions and reforms in the country. The guests stressed their positive impression about Azerbaijan.

The honored guest highly appreciated the activity and leading initiative role of SOCAR AQS in projects of national importance.

Mr. Mike Dubos highly appreciated the contribution of SOCAR AQS in conducting successful negotiations with local and regional contractors for more than two years and the establishment of the IADC Committee in the Caspian region. The Vice-President of IADC presented the certificate of membership of the IADC committee to the General Director Mr. Ramin Isayev.

The General Director of SOCAR AQS Ramin Isayev expressed his gratitude to the vice-president of IADC for his trust and appreciation for the establishment in Baku of the IADC Caspian Committee, which brings drilling contractors all together.

It should be noted that IADC regularly supports its partners in the application of standards that ensure safe and efficient drilling in the industry, bringing together 1600 members around the world related to oil and gas exploration, well construction, operation, production of oilfield equipment and related services.

The new Committee in the Caspian region will play a special role in bringing together prominent national and regional companies, educational institutions and think tanks.

It should be noted that IADC Caspian Board Committee includes the employees of SOCAR AQS along with representatives of the leading international drilling companies and university students.
