Eng. Tarek El Molla, Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources participated in a panel session dedicated to Egypt in Abu Dhabi International Petroleum Exhibition and Conference (ADIPEC 2017) entitled “Egypt’s Golden Age of Hydrocarbon Discovery” with the participation of CEOs of BP, Shell and Eni. The Minister reviewed in his speech the main challenges the Egyptian Petroleum Sector confronted as well as measures and policies the Ministry of Petroleum adopted that contributed to pumping new investments in the Petroleum Sector and fast tracking gas fields’ projects development, which will raise Egypt’s gas production.
He clarified that turning Egypt into a regional oil and gas trading hub is one of the main programs of the Petroleum sector’s Modernization Project, backed by what Egypt possesses of competitive advantages such as existing infrastructure, terminals, liquefaction plants and FSRUs, in addition to the newly issued gas regulatory law in a stride to liberate the gas market.
The Minister invited all attendees to participate in the second edition of the Egyptian Petroleum Show “EGYPS” which will be held in Cairo from 12 - 14 February 2018, under the high patronage of H.E President El Sisi, the President of the Arab Republic of Egypt.
On the sideline of the conference, The Minister held separate meetings with each of the CEOs of Russian Lukoil, French Total, Brtish BP, Italian Technip and Malaysian Petronas. He reviewed the currently developed gas projects in the Mediterranean along with Refineries and Petrochemicals projects in addition to available investment opportunities.
