“Research Intitute of Petroleum Industry” (RIPI) has signed a deal with France's Beicip-Fran-Lab for bolstering cooperation in holding studies on Iran's Homa gas field.
Touraj Behrouz, head of the faculty of reservoir studies and developing fields, on the sidelines of the signing of the contract, referring to studies on the field, as an order by the Iran Central Oil Fields Company, said that the memorandum signed with the French company in order to exchange knowledge and experience in advanced upstream processes.
He said the French company enjoy experiences in upstream projects and international authority in the field and can contribute a lot in development of the field. “Because the hydrocarbon reservoir is fractured and produces water, the two firms decided to collaborate with a foreign partner to address the serious challenge.”-Touraj Behrouz said.
The head of the faculty of reservoir studies and developing fields pointing to the importance of this project said: “It is not just a cooperation to conduct studies on a gas field, the venture is highly sensitive and all the procedures must be undertaken with high precision.”
“The French petroleum consultancy firm will provide RIPI consultancy and software solutions in fractured reservoirs, geophysics processing, fracture model and dynamic model.”- Touraj Behrouz said.
