Iraq to Reduce Oil Products Imports by 25%

Mr. Jabbar Ali Al-Luiebi the minister of oil ordered to reduce the importation of the oil Derivatives by 25% to save money to the federal budget.

Mr. Al-Luiebi said that this procedure is the result of the strong policy of the ministry and good planning to provide the oil derivatives to the people, ministries, governmental facilities, companies, factories and private sector.

Mr. Al-Luiebi said also that the rehabilitation of the refineries which were sabotaged by the terrorist gangs, and restarting the production from these refineries contributed to add more quantities to the national production. As well as the addition of more production units to the refineries in the middle & south of Iraq. He said also that being self-sufficient of liquefied gas products contributed also to cover a big part of the local need and make use of the liquefied gas. It is also worthy to say that the restarting of the production units of Seeniya, Hadeetha, Qayara and Kirkuk refineries contributed also to raise the production of the oil derivatives.

The ministry of oil have also declared earlier for big investment projects in the refining sector, such as Kirkuk, Maysan, Nasiriya, Faw, Anbar, Ninawa and other refineries to contribute in raising the production capacity of the oil derivatives. And the ministry also has other plans & projects to build refineries outside the country for the benefit of Iraq.
