Michael Collins has been appointed a new Chief Executive Officer of Salym Petroleum Development N.V. (SPD), a joint venture of Shell and Gazprom Neft. At this position Michael has succeeded Alexey Govzich who had led SPD in 2015-2018 and moved to Gazprom Neft as Executive Technology Director.
Michael Collins, SPD CEO, commented on the announcement: “I’m proud to become a part of SPD team. Michael Collins has 20-year experience in Exploration and Production. He held various positions in Shell projects across the globe, including the Netherlands, the Philippines, Norway, Brunei, and Australia. Before SPD Michael was Shell VP Wells Joint Ventures. He is from Australia where he graduated with first class honors as a Mining Engineer from the University of New South Wales.
