JKX Oil & Gas plc is pleased to announce that it has successfully completed the tie-in of its Ukrainian gas production to the Soyuz trunk line. The tie-in represents a significant operational milestone for the Company as access to the trunk line effectively removes any delivery constraint on the amount of sales gas that can be delivered to the Company’s Ukrainian customers. Prior to the tie-in, the Company’s Ukrainian gas delivery capacity was constrained to a maximum of 44 MMcfd. The tie-in to the 56 inch Soyuz trunk line was finalized in October with installation of two new compressors, a second dew point control plant and fiscal metering systems. Following commissioning of the system, approvals from all relevant regulatory authorities have now been received.
JKX Chief Executive, Dr Paul Davies, said: “This is a significant achievement for the Company following a demanding operational and regulatory process. In addition to removing any gas delivery constraint, this positions JKX to benefit from any upward movement in gas realization prices in 2009.”
