President of LUKOIL Vagit Alekperov and the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev had a meeting in Tashkent today.
The parties discussed execution of LUKOIL's projects in Uzbekistan. According to the plan, the Kandym Gas Processing Complex, brought into operation in April of 2018, is to undergo operational acceptance by a state commission in 2019. The company also continues to estimate the potential oil and gas content of Uzbekistan's new investment blocks.
During his business trip to Tashkent, Mr. Alekperov also attended the 23rd International Exhibition Oil & Gas – Uzbekistan 2019, where LUKOIL presented an exhibition stand.
With eight billion dollars invested in Gissar and Kandym-Hauzak-Shady projects, the Republic of Uzbekistan is one of LUKOIL's key regions. The cumulative gas production of projects operated by the company in the republic has exceeded 67 billion cubic meters. The projects provide employment for around 2,700 people, 90% of whom are Uzbekistan nationals. LUKOIL also supports educational initiatives to facilitate the professional development of local personnel.
