Equinor Given Consent for Exploration Drilling in Block 7219/9

Norway's Petroleum Safety Authority has given Equinor consent for exploration drilling in Block 7219/9 in the Barents Sea. Well 7219/9-3 is part of production licence PL 532, for which Equinor is the operator. The well will be drilled to test a prospect named 'Mist'.
The drilling location is in the Barents Sea, around 22 kms south-southeast of the Johan Castberg field.
The geographical coordinates are: 72° 17' 23.03" N 19° 59' 56.43" E. Water depth at the site is 326 metres.
Drilling is scheduled to begin in mid-October 2019 and is expected to last for 39 days.
Well 7219/9-3 will be drilled by the Transocean Enabler mobile drilling facility.
Transocean Enabler (formerly Songa Enabler) is a semi-submersible drilling facility of the CAT D type. It was delivered by the Daewoo yard in South Korea in 2016, is registered in Norway and classified by DNV-GL.
Transocean Enabler was issued with an Acknowledgement of Compliance (AoC) by the PSA in June 2019.
