Production at the Onal field began on Monday 9 March 2009 with the opening of the first 11 wells on platforms PF-500, PF-700 and PF-900, at an initial provisional rate of 10,000 bbl/d at 100%. Oil processing and storage commenced at the Onal facilities on 23 February following the start-up of the Omko field (production of 3,000 bbl/d at 100%).
The export pipeline (120 km) between Onal and the Coucal delivery point is currently being filled. The first oil is expected to arrive at Coucal before the end of the week.
