The heavy transport shipping company Dockwise Shipping B.V., located in Breda, The Netherlands, took delivery of the Russian m.v. Transshelf in Dubai on Friday 23 July 2004.

Since 1990 Dockwise has been entrusted with the exclusive commercial and operational management of the Transshelf. After 14 years sailing under Dockwise management the m.v. Transshelf has been taken over from its Russian owners, Rosneft. Before loading the 16,500 tons Kurilskaya rig in Dubai, U.A.E. mr. André Goedée, Chief Executive Officer of Dockwise, officially took delivery of the m.v. Transshelf by hoisting the Dockwise flag together with the master, capt. S. Korobko.

Based on the experience and dedication of the existing officers and crews, Dockwise decided to continue sailing with the current crews on the Transshelf. Also effective 23 July 2004 the m.v. Transshelf has entered into the Register of the Netherlands Antilles, with its port of registry Willemstad.

"A truly memorable moment", said André Goedée, Chief Executive Officer of Dockwise, "Although this vessel has sailed under Dockwise Management for the last 14 years, we are still very pleased that we have been able to acquire the vessel from its owners Rosneft. It provides the best possible means for Dockwise to optimise its services towards our customers and secured long term availability of the vessel for some of the largest and most complex projects in the market."

The Transshelf is a semi-submersible heavy transport carrier of a design that shows strong resemblance to the Servant class vessels of Dockwise, with a deadweight capacity of 34,034 tons and an unobstructed deck area of some 5,280 sq.m. (40 x 132 meters).

Dockwise Shipping is located in Breda, The Netherlands and operates a fleet of 16 semi-submersible heavy transport vessels of various capacities and designs. Dockwise employs about 800 people worldwide and with a global network of two offices in Breda, The Netherlands and Houston, Texas, USA, as well as 8 representing agents, Dockwise is able to serve their clients to its best ability. As a leading provider in its specialist field of marine transport services, Dockwise has the experience and the resources to meet complex ocean transportation requirements.
