Bluewater Energy Services B.V. has been awarded a contract by Hyundai Heavy Industries (HHI) on behalf of Shell Nigeria for the design and supply of a complete Single Point Mooring (SPM) system for the Bonny Terminal in Nigeria.

Bluewater’s scope of supply consists of the design, engineering, procurement and fabrication of a catenerary anchor leg mooring (CALM) buoy including pipeline end manifold (PLEM). The buoy will accommodate tankers up to 150,000 dwt.

“We consider this an important award as it marks the first SPM project awarded to Bluewater in Nigeria. We are determined to gain a stronger foothold in Nigeria as well as in the rest of the West African market. The CALM buoy will be built locally in Nigeria with delivery of the complete system in Port Harcourt expected to take place in December 2005,” stated Bluewater’s President/CEO Hugo Heerema.
