Transneft Volga Region has completed scheduled repairs of oil trunk pipelines (OTP) and the Krotovka line operation dispatcher station (LODS). The repairs were carried out as part of the comprehensive technical upgrading and revamping programme in Orenburg and Samara Regions.
The goal is to increase reliability of technological devices used at operating facilities and ensure environmental safety of the oil transportation process.
Midlife repairs of five gate valves of the Buguruslan – Syzran OTP were completed, seven defective sections of the Sernye Vody – Krotovka, Buguruslan – Syzran and Bavly – Kuybyshev OTPs were cut out during a planned shutdown of oil transportation. In addition, two temporary pipeline clean-up and inspection gadgets’ traps were connected to the standby leg of the Buguruslan – Syzran OTP underwater crossing through the Samara River. Pressure compensators were installed at three wedge valves at the Krotovka LODS of the Buguruslan Regional Oil Pipeline Directorate.
In order to counter the spread of the coronavirus infection, the company's specialists complied with sanitary standards and used the necessary personal protective equipment during the planned repairs.
Oil transportation was resumed as scheduled. The pipelines is operating under the standard protocol.
