Transneft Siberia has completed the installation of electric pump unit (MPU) No. 3 at the Ilyichevka oil pumping station (OPS) of the Uray Oil Trunk Pipeline Directorate and connected it to the Surgut – Polotsk trunk oil pipeline system.
The pumping equipment replacement works are carried out to improve its reliability and ensure emergency-free operation under the programme of technical upgrading and revamping of the company.
The works started at the facility in March 2020. The electric pump unit was replaced with a modern pump with increased efficiency and an extended overhaul period manufactured by Transneft Oil Pumps (Chelyabinsk). A new electric motor manufactured by REM, JSC (Chelyabinsk) was installed on the unit.
In the course of the work, the check valve with damper was replaced with a fast-response unmanned check valve, the pipelines of auxiliary systems (oil supply, the leakage system, air pressurisation systems, circulating water supply) were replaced and modern sensors of vibration, temperature and pressure were installed. Replacement of pumping equipment was carried out in accordance with the requirements of industrial safety and industrial control.
Earlier, a new electric pump unit No. 1 was installed at the Ilyichevka OPS. Two more units (No. 2, 4) are to be replaced in 2021. In total, in 2020, 10 new electric pump units will be installed at the Uray OTPD facilities.
The new modern pumping equipment, which meets the regulatory requirements of Transneft, allows to increase safety, reliability and energy efficiency of an operating facility, as well as to ensure uninterrupted oil transportation via the operated sections of Transneft Siberia’s oil trunk pipelines.
