Chernomortransneft has completed construction and installation work on the replacement of four sections of the Lisichansk-Tikhoretsk-1 oil trunk pipeline (OTP) with a total length of 16.5 km.
The pipeline sections were welded and laid in one technological corridor with the Lisichansk-Tikhoretsk-1 OTP. To service them, two new stop valve units were built, a high-voltage electric power transmission line was installed, and electrochemical protection, leak detection, and activity control systems were installed.
Upon completion of the welding and installation, hydraulic tests of new sections of the OTP were performed in order to check its strength and tightness; an in-line inspection using a magnetic combined defectoscope was also conducted.
The construction of the sections was carried out as part of the Technical Upgrading, Revamping and Overhaul Programme implemented by Chernomortransneft in order to ensure uninterrupted and safe operation of its oil trunk pipelines.
