KW Group have received an order for a fully automated turnkey hyperbaric testing facility from a major global defence and security component manufacturer. This is in line with KW’s plan to diversify into new markets, expanding on the Oil & Gas and Subsea sectors.
KW will be designing, manufacturing, assembling and installing the hyperbaric test chamber which will have an internal volume in excess of 28,000 litres, with a 2.2 metre internal bore and will utilise our automated bayonet closure system. The hyperbaric chamber will come complete with a fully automated fluid management system to directly simulate the deep sea conditions to meet our customer’s specific test profiles and procedures.
This system will also include a 30,000 litre fluid holding tank that will be mounted onto a bespoke mezzanine platform with a safe working load in excess of 35,000kg, in addition to an ultra violet filtration loop to mitigate the risk of bacteria forming within the fluid holding tank.
The system will be fully installed and commissioned, inclusive of off-loading and final positioning of the equipment by KW Engineers. Following this activity KW will conduct a comprehensive operator training programme including both, basic and advanced training for the on-site operators.
KW are also providing a Written Scheme of Examination in line with the Pressure System Safety Regulations (PSSR:2000) to ensure the system is inspected annually, in line with all relevant legislation. KW Engineers will execute this activity for the first three years of the systems life cycle as part of the contract.
