InterMoor’s team in Australia has been busy asserting its leadership in the regional mooring market in the past few months.

UPCOMING OCEAN MONARCH DRILLING CAMPAIGN IN MYANMAR
InterMoor Australia recently mobilised mooring equipment for the upcoming Ocean Monarch’s drilling campaign for POSCO in Myanmar. The equipment includes 84 mm R5 mooring chain, 900T fibre rope inserts, subsea buoys, and 20T anchors. InterMoor’s scope also includes the development of operational procedures and provision of mooring personnel to oversee the upcoming mooring installation and hook-up operations at the Shwe field.

COSL PROSPECTOR IN NEW ZEALAND
The Myanmar contract comes on the heels of InterMoor’s scope of work for the COSL Prospector MODU offshore New Zealand. InterMoor supplied two full prelay mooring spreads consisting of anchors, chain, wire pennants, surface buoys, connecting links and other associated mooring jewellery.

InterMoor also developed operational procedures and provided mooring personnel to oversee the prelay mooring installation and hook-up operations. The team provided guidance and operational expertise to the operator, Mobile Offshore Drilling Unit (MODU), and Anchor Handling Vessels (AHVs), contributing to safe and successful mooring operations in often challenging weather conditions.

After the campaign, InterMoor completed the demobilisation of more than 4000 mT mooring equipment from New Zealand back to its base in Karratha, Western Australia.

MOORING CONSULTANCY SERVICE AGREEMENT
In parallel with these two rig-moving projects, InterMoor Australia recently signed a five-year Mooring Consultancy Services agreement with an Australian operator to provide the following services:
- Mooring feasibility studies for both rig system and pre-lay mooring systems
- Site-specific mooring analysis as per API-RP-2SK and APPEA MMATW requirements
- Detailed anchor holding capacity assessments
- Qualitative and quantitative risk assessments
- Dropped object risk assessments
- Ad-hoc engineering and mooring assurance / verification
- Provision of mooring engineers, equipment supervisors, and rig movers for offshore operations

The agreement further demonstrates InterMoor’s capability as an all-encompassing mooring service partner for operators and drilling contractors globally.
