Apache Corp has contracted three of Norway-based Rem Offshore’s PSVs for one or two years, plus options, to ensure its two significant production centres and its drilling operations in the UK sector are fully supplied.
The US-based energy company operates the multi-platform Forties field and Beryl complex in the central and northern sectors.
Rem Offshore gained a one-year contract for its 2013-built, VS 485 mk III-design PSV Rem Insula, starting in January 2021. Apache has options to extend this contract for a further two years.
Apache North Sea has also taken an option extension for another of Rem’s PSVs. It has contracted 2012-built, VS 485 mk II-design Rem Mistral for another year, with two yearly options to follow if required.
In another deal, Apache awarded a one-year contract for PSV Rem Cetus. This 2013-built, VS 485 mk III-design vessel will be employed until the end of 2021, unless Apache exercises its yearly options.
“Rem Offshore has had several vessels on charter with Apache over the last years, and we are proud of continuing and expanding this good relationship,” Rem Offshore said. “We feel this shows trust and faith in our organisation and satisfaction with the performance of our vessels.”
Rem Offshore operates a fleet of 11 vessels including seven PSVs, two seismic survey and two construction subsea vessels.
Apache operates the Forties complex, plus the Beryl, Ness, Nevis, Nevis South, Skene and Buckland fields. It has drilling programmes for these fields, development work and exploration prospects to probe.
Earlier in November, Rem Offshore gained a one-year contract from Serica Energy for 2012-built PSV Rem Mira.
Another Norwegian vessel owner secured subsea vessel work in Australia on 24 November. DOF Subsea won a contract from Beach Energy to support the Otway offshore Phase 4 project, including subsea installation work in a tie-back programme.
The award includes project management, engineering, fabrication, transportation and installation services and is expected to be completed in Q3 2021.
The project will be executed using DOF Subsea’s regional construction support vessels, Skandi Hercules and Skandi Singapore, which are ideally suited to these campaigns.
