Transneft Kama Region has completed technical upgrading and commissioned an oil storage tank at the Kaleikino oil pumping station of the Romashkino Regional Oil Pipeline Directorate in the Republic of Tatarstan.
The works at the vertical steel floating-roof tank with a volume of 20 thousand m3 were launched in February in accordance with the technical upgrading, revamping and overhaul programme.
Specialists replaced sections of the tank’s walls and bottom, nozzles in the wall, and repaired defective sections of the tank’s metal structures. For this purpose, materials with increased wear resistance and strength with a total weight of about 5 tonnes were used.
The tank is equipped with a complete set of equipment to ensure its uninterrupted operation. Corrosion protection of the tank and technological equipment will be provided by a cathodic protection station, anode beds, as well as a renewed anti-corrosion coating of lightning rods.
The tank hydraulic tests were carried out for 48 hours and confirmed the tightness of the tank. After completing the verification of the fire extinguishing and cooling systems operability, the tank was commissioned.
The technical upgrading of the tank is part of measures to modernise the station's tank farm. The goal is to maintain a high level of reliability and operation of operating facilities.
