Transneft Urals has implemented the motor and special-purpose vehicles fleet renewal programme for 2020. In total, 111 units of motor and special-purpose vehicles designed for personnel transportation, maintenance of trunk pipelines and operating facilities expanded the company's vehicle fleet during the year.
Among the new pieces of equipment are mobile steam units, crew change buses, all-wheel drive dump trucks, tractor units and semitrailers. All the vehicles are of domestic production, have increased operational characteristics, reduced consumption of motor fuel. Transneft Urals continues to increase the number of used vehicles operating on gas engine fuel: this year, 9 such vehicles were commissioned.
The branches of Transneft Urals received the crew change buses on the chassis of Ural NEXT and KamAZ cross-country vehicles, designed to transport personnel to work sites at the trunk pipelines and other operating facilities. One bus can accommodate up to 24 people. The buses are equipped with autonomous cab and interior heaters; air conditioners are also installed in the cabins. 2 of the 8 buses operate on gas engine fuel.
In addition, in 2020, the Cherkassy and the Tuymazy Oil Pipeline Directorates accepted 2 multifunctional vehicles, designed to carry out work at locations where the trunk pipelines and route electric power transmission lines pass, into operation. Equipment of the vehicles allows solving a wide range of tasks. Mounted mulchers are used to clear the area from vegetation. Bulldozer attachments are designed for forestry works, laying roads and clearing them from snow, creating firebreaks for fires’ containment. The motor and special-purpose vehicles fleet renewal is essential to ensure safe operation of the trunk pipelines within Transneft Urals’ area of responsibility.
