Transneft Druzhba has replaced an electric motor of the mainline pump unit (MPU) at the Stanovaya oil pumping station (PS) in Lipetsk Region and 2 MPUs at the Klin line operation dispatcher station (LODS) in Ulyanovsk Region.

New motors with a capacity of 6,300 kW each were installed at the MPUs, pumping oil via the Kuybyshev – Unecha-2 oil trunk pipeline (OTP). The works were carried out as part of the technical upgrading, revamping and overhaul programme to replace equipment that had reached the end of its service life.

The motors are equipped with a brushless mechanism. Due to the absence of rapidly wearing mechanical parts, the overhaul interval of equipment and its reliability and safety increase, excluding the formation of sparks.

Due to the use of high-tech materials and assembling accuracy, the efficiency of the motors exceeds 98%. The service life has been increased compared to the previous equipment and is 50 years.

The facilities were put into commercial operation. The technical upgrading of the stations’ equipment will ensure uninterrupted oil transportation and high reliability of technological processes.
