'WINDPARK FRYSLÂN' HAS STARTED BUILDING THE WIND TURBINES IN THE IJSSELMEER. FROM MARCH TO JUNE 2021, THE 89 WIND TURBINES WILL BE SHIPPED, INSTALLED AND TESTED. THIS IS THE FINAL PHASE OF THE CONSTRUCTION PROJECT AND AN IMPORTANT MILESTONE FOR THE WIND FARM. DURING THIS PHASE, WAGENBORG WILL TAKE CARE OF THE TRANSPORT OF THE BLADES AND TOWER SECTIONS WITH VARIOUS TUGS AND PONTOONS.
SCR reduces nitrogon on tug up to 85%
One of the tugs on this project is the 'Waterpoort'. Recently, a so-called Selective Catalyst Reduction (SCR) system was installed in this oldest Wagenborg tugboat - built in 1962 and equipped with an old Stork Werkspoor engine. With this catalytic converter behind the engine, exhaust gases are treated, so that nitrogen (NOx) is reduced up to 85%.
Building the wind turbines
In September last year, Van Oord Offshore Wind installed all foundation into the bottom of the IJsselmeer. During this project phase, Wagenborg also contributed with the floating crane 'Triton'. On top of the foundations, the 89 wind turbines are now being built one by one. Due to the width of the locks around the IJsselmeer, the wind turbine components are brought to the IJsselmeer by various ships and assembled there. The three rotor blades are first assembled in Oude Zeug for transport to the wind farm. The tower parts and the nacelle come to the IJsselmeer via Amsterdam.
