The two sets of carbon capture devices jointly built by the East China Petroleum Bureau and Nanhua Company have recovered more than 160,000 tons of carbon dioxide and have a monthly recovery capacity of more than 1 10,000 tons; the recovered carbon dioxide helps upstream companies such as East China Petroleum Bureau and Jiangsu Oilfield to drive oil and increase production by more than 10,000 tons.

In 2015, the two parties signed a cooperation agreement for the East China Petroleum Bureau Liquid Carbon Company to recover the carbon dioxide tail gas from the synthetic ammonia plant and coal hydrogen production plant of Nanhua Company for use in oilfield pressure injection flooding. In 2020, on the basis of the first phase of the carbon capture pilot zone, the East China Petroleum Bureau Liquid Carbon Company invested in the second phase of the project. After the second phase of the project was put into use, all the carbon dioxide from the two units of Nanhua Company was recovered and used.

The cooperation between the two parties not only achieves zero carbon dioxide emissions from the installation, but also uses the recovered carbon dioxide for oil displacement to increase oil recovery and achieve carbon sequestration, accumulating valuable experience for the integrated development of upstream and downstream green and low-carbon.
