Transneft Volga Region has finished the scheduled repairs at oil trunk pipelines (OTPs) and oil pumping stations (PSs) in Orenburg and Samara Regions.
The works were carried out during a scheduled shutdown of oil transportation via the Buguruslan – Syzran, the Bavly – Kuybyshev, the Krotovka – Kuybyshev, the Pokrovka – Krotovka-2 trunk pipelines.
To maintain a high level of industrial and environmental safety at the pipelines, stop valves were repaired, 8 defective sections were cut out.
To renew the fleet of pump units, at the Pokrovskaya oil pumping station (PS), a mainline pump was decommissioned for subsequent replacement. Stop valves were repaired at the Krotovka and the Pokhvistnevo line operation dispatcher stations (LODSs). In addition, at the Pokhvistnevo LODS, communication controllers were replaced followed by checking the list of signals and protection algorithms for the station's automation systems.
At the Krotovka LODS and the Pokrovskaya PS, specialists of maintenance divisions removed the sections of process and supply pipelines from the area of the forthcoming construction of auxiliary systems and equipment.
A set of works at onsite facilities and the OTPs was completed within 72 hours in accordance with the technical upgrading, revamping and overhaul programme for Transneft Volga Region facilities.
In total, more than 250 employees of the Samara and the Buguruslan Regional Oil Pipeline Directorates were involved in the repairs, more than 100 pieces of equipment and special-purpose vehicles were used. The work was carried out taking into account the requirements of industrial safety and occupational health.
The oil transportation via the oil trunk pipelines has been resumed on schedule and is currently conducted under the normal protocol.
