Equinor – Johan Castberg – Subsea Production System

The Petroleum Safety Authority Norway (PSA) has carried out an audit of Equinor focused on the company’s management of design engineering and fabrication of a subsea production system for Johan Castberg.

Objective
The objective of the audit was to investigate whether Equinor's follow-up of process safety, risk and barrier management, emergency preparedness, degradation mechanisms and assembly of a subsea production system for Johan Castberg complies with the company's own and the regulatory requirements.

Result
No regulatory non-conformities were identified during the audit.

An improvement point was identified concerning non-conformity management.

What happens now?
We have asked Equinor to provide us with its assessment of the improvement point observed. The reply deadline is set at 15 June 2021.
