Enis Nigerian Agip Oil Company (NAOC) has shut its Idu Well 11 in the southern state of Bayelsa after an oil leak. The leak was identified in the Idu oilfields at the Egbebiri settlement in the Yenagoa Local Government Area in Bayelsa.

The cause of the leak was equipment failure owing to a rupture at the wellhead. The company said its assessment was based on the findings of a joint investigative visit conducted on May 9.
