Svitlana Zalishchuk has been appointed international affairs advisor to Naftogaz CEO. She will coordinate Naftogaz Group’s cooperation with international partners, including G7 officials, and will perform representative functions at high level. Counteracting Nord Stream 2 will be one of her priorities.
“Over the past several years, the Naftogaz team has managed to hold back the completion of Nord Stream 2 significantly. Yet we are far from being victorious, and Ukraine still needs to win its battle against the Russian geopolitical pipeline. We are currently working on several scenarios to stop Nord Stream 2. We need to mobilize all branches of power in Ukraine and ensure clear and consistent coordination with our international partners who realize the threat posed by the Russian pipeline to all Europe. These are my priorities as I see them,” Svitlana Zalishchuk commented on her appointment.
Ms Zalishchuk has vast experience in international relations. Before joining Naftogaz, she was foreign policy advisor to the Prime Minister of Ukraine and the Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration. Svitlana was elected to the Ukrainian parliament of the 8th convocation where she headed the Subcommittee for Euro-Atlantic Cooperation and European Integration of the Parliamentary Foreign Committee. She also participated in Ukrainian delegations to PACE and the EU-Ukraine Parliamentary Association Committee. Ms Zalishchuk is a graduate of Kyiv National Taras Shevchenko University.
