For several decades, Eidesvik ASA has been a pioneer for increased sustainability and reduced emissions in the shipping industry.

Now, the company is further strengthening its focus on green shipping by employing Marie Engelsen Launes in a newly created position as Commercial Environmental Manager. She will be a driving force for innovation and sustainability and will drive commercialization processes from idea stage to realization. She will also play a central role in the operationalization of the company’s growth strategy and the commercialization of Eidesvik’s solutions within energy optimization and new technologies.

Launes joins Eidesvik on August 1.

She comes from the position as Director Public Affairs in Maritime CleanTech, a world-leading cluster for clean maritime solutions, and has previously been communications manager at Wartsila in Norway. The 41-year-old has a degree in communication and marketing from Napier University Edinburgh.

“Eidesvik is a beacon when it comes to the use of new green technology in shipping, and I know them as a company that is constantly looking for new opportunities. A clear commitment to technology and the environment, and collaboration with other companies and research environments, will be a key part of the company’s strategy also in the future. Overall, this makes Eidesvik one of the most exciting workplaces in the maritime sector for me. I am really looking forward to being part of such a committed and forward-thinking environment,” Launes says.
