Electric Power Development Co., Ltd. (hereafter “J-POWER”) announces that JPOWER has joined Asia CCUS Network as a supporting member.
The network aims to develop and disseminate CCUS (Carbon dioxide Capture, Utilization and Storage) technologies for cleaner use of fossil fuels in ASEAN and the East Asia Summit (EAS) region. The network has begun its activities from the first Asia
CCUS Network Forum held on June 22nd and 23rd and will share CCUS knowledge through forums and workshops, and conduct surveys on CCUS-related technologies and legal systems.
J-POWER is taking on the challenge of realizing carbon-neutral and hydrogen society as stated in “J-POWER BLUE MISSION 2050” announced on Feb. 26, 2021. As one of
the initiatives in this challenge, CCUS technology development is underway aiming for
transition to CO2-free hydrogen energy made from coal with CCUS/carbon recycling. As an example in Asian region, J-POWER has been engaged in a JCM survey project for CCS demonstration project in Gundih aria, Indonesia as announced on May 20, 2020.
J-POWER continues to pursue overseas growth of renewable energy and the
possibility of CO2-free hydrogen to realize a sustainable society.

1.Promote knowledge sharing through holding an annual forum,
conferences, workshops, and meetings.
2.Conduct research studies on technical, economical, and legal
standards of CCUS in the EAS
