The so-called "golden weld", ie the "golden connection" of the pipe on the border connecting the two countries is an exceptional event, both for two companies, Srbijagas and "FGSZ", and for the entire region and Central Europe, which, thanks to the Balkan Stream pipeline ", As director Bajatovic said, it will never freeze again, and on the other hand, these are new commercial opportunities, new directions, new quantities of gas and a new opportunity for us all to make money.
- This is a new security in the supply of gas to Serbia, Hungary, Bulgaria and the whole of Central Europe, pointed out the director of Srbijagas, Dusan Bajatovic. Also, the connection of the gas pipeline is one of the important results of the cooperation between the Serbian and Hungarian states, which is getting better every day in all areas, he added.
- Since the line part is essentially completed, and the compressor station in Serbia is also being completed, also in Bulgaria, we can already say that from October 1, we will be able to transport the first quantities of transit gas to Central Europe via Serbia. In order to achieve this, many technical and regulatory details had to be resolved in Brussels, in the Energy Community and with national regulatory bodies, and we did it with great success, said Bajatovic on this occasion.
Today, a contract was handed over to the Hungarian FGSZ in Horgos, which regulates all mutual conditions of transport between the company "Gastrans", which is the owner and investor of "Balkan Stream" on the territory of Serbia, and the Hungarian gas transporter.
FGSZ director Ferenc Szabolcs, emphasizing the importance of today's "golden connection" of the gas pipeline systems of the two countries, said that it means the end of this project and a new phase - the beginning of gas supply in that direction.
- The goal is for a significant amount of gas from the territory of Serbia to come to Hungary from October. Behind this project is serious multi-year work. All of us, both from our side and from the Serbian side, have done a lot to make this gas pipeline work. I would like to emphasize that everything was realized according to the highest standards and that our cooperation was extremely good. We expect that it will be the same in all other fields in the future, said the director of FGSZ, which, as of tomorrow, has the opportunity to sell free capacities for gas transport from Serbia to Hungary, and with these new pipes to Hungary will annually maximum power to transport about 8.5 billion cubic meters of gas.
The length of the "Balkan Stream" through Serbia is 402 kilometers, the diameter of the gas pipeline is 1200 mm, the maximum pressure is 75 bar, and the annual capacity of the gas pipeline is 13.88 billion cubic meters of gas. On the route of the gas pipeline, there are 4 measuring and 19 block stations, as well as one compressor station near Velika Plana with three units of 8 megawatts each. As it is known, from January 1, the delivery of gas from Russia goes in this direction, through the territory of Turkey and Bulgaria, and currently the supply of the citizens of Serbia is done through gas hubs in Pancevo and Gospodjinci.
