With the subsiding impacts of the financial crisis in China since the end of June 2009 as well as the pick-up of China's economy after the release of state's detailed petroleum industry revitalization policies, China's petroleum industry has seen a revival, which has attracted the domestic and foreign petroleum equipment manufacturers to re-focus on China. Statistics indicate that investment in the industry continued to grow in the first half of this year, though at a lower rate. China's petroleum and petrochemical industry received a total fixed investment of RMB 413.52 billion from January to June. It was a 15.5 percent increase year-on-year, however the growth rate decreased by 18.1 percentage points year-on-year.
Despite the financial crisis, the 9th China International Petroleum & Petrochemical Technology and Equipment Exhibition (cippe2009) was successfully held at the New China International Exhibition Center in Beijing from March 19 to 21, 2009. The event employed 4 exhibition halls with a total area of 60,000 square meters. Participants of cippe2009 included delegates from 12 countries and regions, including the U.S., Germany, France, Canada, Italy, Norway, Russia, Kazakhstan, Japan and South Korea, as well as nearly 1,100 exhibitors from 37 countries and regions.
In view of the industry's positive trend, the organizing committee of cippe opened the application for cippe2010 at the end of August 2009, and has made amazing achievements ever since.
According to the leader of the organizing committee, cippe2010 will employ 5 exhibition halls with a total area of 65,000 square meters. The UK delegate will for the first time participate in the exhibition, with its area estimated to be 360 square meters. In order to achieve a higher level of promotion, a number of exhibitors have expressed intents to expand their exhibition areas. Beijing Petroleum Machinery Factory has booked an area of 600 square meters, Gazprom 180 square meters, CNOOC 200 square meters and Jereh 500 square meters. Existing customers including Jianghan Petroleum Administration Bureau, Bohai Petroleum Equipment, Siemens, ABB and GE already expressed such intents for cippe2010 at the closing of cippe2009. Meanwhile, the addition of significant new customers will be a highlight of cippe2010. Chengde Fuquan Petroleum Machinery Co. Ltd. recently ordered an outdoors area of 400 square meters and an indoors area of 200 square meters in Hall 1, followed by Teda Landoo Oilfield Services Co. Ltd. with an area of 144 square meters in the same hall. Afterwards, Tianhe Petroleum Group Co. Ltd. took an area of 350 square meters in Hall 2. In addition, a number of enterprises have plans to expand their exhibition areas and have required cippe to provide preferred locations. In view of the popularity of cippe2010 at the early stage of the application, we can expect a remarkable success of the event.
It is worth mentioning the organizing committee has employed multiple means to promote the event along with its worldwide tour. The committee has been to renowned exhibitions of the petroleum industry in the United States, Canada, Brazil, Singapore, Malaysia, United Kingdom, Germany, Kazakhstan and Russia, and received strong supports from the industry associations and enterprises. Currently cippe2010 offers various promotion opportunities, including exhibition hall advertisements as well as advertisements on bags, coupons, badges and catalogs.
The organizing committee is also preparing a number of technical forums and seminars, and will announce the agendas by the end of 2009. Cippe2010 will take place at New China International Exhibition Center in Beijing from March 22 to 24, 2010. Industry players are welcomed to take part as visitors and exhibitors.
