The CEO of Eni, Claudio Descalzi, has met with the President of Rwanda, Paul Kagame, to discuss possible collaboration in the fields of energy transition and circular economy in a regional perspective. The Minister of Trade and Industry Mrs Beata Habyarimana also took part in the meeting.
Mr. Descalzi and President Kagame discussed how to leverage Rwanda’s strong agricultural expertise with projects in the agro-industrial chain, such as cultivating crops to produce agrofeedstock for bio refining.
Other topics of discussion included joint research and development initiatives in the fields of energy transition, and possible investments in the area of forestry conservation and the protection of endangered species.
Eni’s business model is strongly oriented towards value creation for all stakeholders in the long term, combining economic, financial and environmental sustainability. The company's strategy aims to achieve net zero Scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions (Net GHG Lifecycle Emissions) and eliminate its relative emissions intensity (Net Carbon Intensity), referring to the entire cycle of life of energy products sold, further strengthening its intermediate decarbonisation objectives.
