Transneft Completes Scheduled Repairs at Operating Facilities in Five Regions

Transneft Upper Volga has completed scheduled repairs of trunk pipelines in Nizhny Novgorod, Moscow, Orel and Tula Regions, as well as in the Mari El Republic.

The works were carried out at the station facilities, as well as at the Ryazan – Moscow, the Ryazan – Tula – Orel petroleum products trunk pipelines (PPTPs), the Ring Petroleum Products Trunk Pipeline around Moscow and the Surgut – Polotsk oil trunk pipeline (OTP). During scheduled works, the operation of the pipelines was stopped.

7 gate valves were replaced at the pipelines, including at the Ryazan – Moscow PPTP underwater crossing via the Oka River. The technical upgrading of the facilities lightning protection systems with the replacement of lightning masts was carried out at the Filino and Balakhonikha oil pumping stations, as well as at the Vtorovo booster pump station.

12 defects were eliminated, which made it possible to extend the safe operation period of pipeline sections.

The installed equipment will allow to maintain a high level of industrial and environmental safety.

The works involved more than 120 people, 50 pieces of equipment were used.

The scheduled repairs were performed in accordance with the technical upgrading, revamping and overhaul programme. The goal was to ensure uninterrupted functioning of operating facilities.

The transportation of oil and petroleum products was resumed as per schedule and is currently carried out under the standard protocol.
