The Port of Gdynia Authority S.A. has intensified work on the development of hydrogen technologies. A conference devoted to the fuel and energy transformation was held in the port. The creation of a hydrogen hub has been initiated. The Port of Gdynia Authority implements the idea of a “green port” – said Jacek Sadaj, president of the Port of Gdynia Authority. Gdynia is planning to introduce hydrogen city transport and a water tram to transport people between the districts of Gdynia, said the Deputy Mayor of Gdynia, Katarzyna Gruszecka-Spychala.
Jan Jarmakowski, president of Hutchison Port Gdynia (GCT), announced that the terminal plans to replace or modernize diesel-powered cranes. The ISO 5001 system, which covers energy efficiency management processes, was implemented by the Baltic Container Terminal in 2014 – said Wojciech Szymulewicz, president of the Baltic Container Terminal. We will include the project of using green fuel in the cycle of future investments. Tomasz Pietrewicz from HES Gdynia Bulk Terminal said that the HES International group adopted a strategy to reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 25%.
