The installation of the Beta topsides is another significant milestone in the delivery of a strategically important energy project for the Netherlands. It follows installation of the sister topsides, Alpha, by Pioneering Spirit last December.
Located 20 km off the coast of The Hague, Alpha is the first connection of an offshore wind farm to Rotterdam’s Maasvlakte, with a capacity of 700 MW. The energisation of Beta later this year will inject a further 700 MW of clean electricity into the Dutch grid.
