Fuel Production of Pertamina Plaju Refinery in Q1 of 2022

PT Kilang Pertamina Internasional Plaju Refinery Unit III (Pertamina Plaju Refinery) recorded production that exceeded the first quarter of 2022 target. Until March 2022, the realization of Oil Fuel (BBM) and Special Fuel (BBK) and by the Pertamina Plaju Refinery of 123% of the Company's Work Plan and Budget (RKAP).

The production of BBM/BBK at the Pertamina Plaju Refinery from January 2022 to March 2022 was 5.1 million barrels from the RKAP, which was set at 4.2 million barrels.

In January 2022, BBM/BBK production reached 1.8 million barrels compared to the RKAP of 1.4 million barrels. Furthermore, in February 2022, BBM/BBK production reached 1.6 million barrels from the 1.3 million barrels RKAP target, and in March 2022, the production realization reached 1.7 million barrels from the 1.4 million barrels RKAP.

The commitment to fulfill energy needs will continue to be maintained until the Eid al-Fitr holiday in May. Throughout April 2022, the Pertamina Plaju Refinery targets fuel production of 1.6 million barrels, and in May 2022, it will be 1.7 million barrels. Thus, with a huge production volume, the Pertamina Plaju Refinery supplies almost 70% of fuel needs in South Sumatera.

Area Manager Communication, Relations & CSR of Pertamina Refinery Plaju, Siti Rachmi Indahsari, said that the BBM/BBK stock in the tank as of April 22 was available for nine days, not including production at the end of April and May 2022. "Therefore, BBM/BPK product needs during D-7 and D+7 Eid are in sufficient conditions," said Rachmi.

The Pertamina Plaju Refinery has also recorded good operational performance until the 1st Quarter of 2022. It is indicated by the Pertamina Plaju Refinery's Product Yield Valuable Product (YVP) throughout the 1st Quarter of 2022, which is also above the target. The percentage of high-value product production, such as petroleum products and petrochemicals, reached 109% realization, above the RKAP.

In the first quarter of 2022, the Pertamina Plaju Refinery also succeeded in exporting low-sulfur Marine Fuel Oil (MFO) products to Singapore and Malaysia.

It is one of Pertamina Plaju Refinery's strategic initiatives to maintain a positive profit & loss report at the end of this year, as achieved in 2021.

The increase in low-sulfur MFO production for export purposes is projected to contribute up to 80% of Pertamina Plaju Refinery's strategic initiative target in 2022, which is donated by the Pertamina Plaju Refinery to the Operations Directorate of PT KPI.

Rachmi also said that Pertamina Plaju Refinery is also part of the Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr Task Force (Satgas Rafi) from April 11 to May 10, 2022. Therefore, the refinery will continue to operate 24 hours, and officers will remain on duty to maintain production continuity.
