Development plans for the Rumaila oil field southern Iraq

The Minister of Oil, Ihsan Abdul Jabbar Ismail, met in London with the CEO of BP, Bernard Lonnie. During the meeting, they discussed mechanisms for supporting development plans and programmes for the Rumaila oil field southern Iraq, with a view to achieve a plarau production target of 1.700 million barrels per day.

Also they discussed assistance and support programs provided by the world energy giant regarding associated gas investment, that contribute to provide available quantities of invested gas in order to support the energy sector in Iraq, as well as maximizing national revenue, in addition to meet the requirements of environmental preservation and public health. Opportunities for cooperation in the field of clean energy were also discussed.
