In order to be able to meet the increasing Thermomix® demand in the future, the Vorwerk Group will be investing 57 million euros in the construction of an additional Thermomix® production plant in the Centre-Val de Loire region in France, thus creating 74 new jobs locally.
This was announced by Dr. Thomas Stoffmehl, Speaker of the Executive Board of the Vorwerk Group, at the "Choose France Summit" at Versailles Palace in the presence of French President Emmanuel Macron. The economic summit is already taking place for the fifth time and is intended to highlight the economic attractiveness of France as well as to promote foreign investment in the country.
"Our investment project in another production site follows the long-term, global strategy of the Vorwerk Group, which will continue to rely on its competence in product development and production as well as the further expansion of direct sales", says Dr. Thomas Stoffmehl.
In 2021, the Vorwerk Group had continued its growth course with record sales of 3.4 billion euros. The turnover of the Thermomix® division increased in 2021, in the year of its 50th anniversary, by 7.1 per cent to 1.7 billion euros. The main production site for the Thermomix® is Vorwerk Semco in France. The largest production site of the Vorwerk Group remains the Vorwerk Elektrowerke in Wuppertal with more than 1,000 employees.
For more than 50 years, Vorwerk has been represented by the Thermomix® production plant Vorwerk Semco in Cloyes-les-trois-Rivieres, France. The additional production Vorwerk is now setting up in the town of Grand Châteaudun. This confirms the company's connection to the region.
