Dagang Oilfield's New Energy Development Enters the Fast Lane

The shallow geothermal energy heating and cooling system in the Dagang Oilfield Exploration and Development Research Institute campus is running well, not only creating a comfortable office environment for scientific researchers, but also realizing carbon, sulfur , Zero emission of particulate matter.

Dagang Oilfield is striving to build a clean, low-carbon, safe, efficient, multi-source and multi-energy complementary energy system, and to speed up the development and utilization of geothermal, solar energy and other new energy sources. As the first shallow ground source heat pump system project of PetroChina, the geothermal heating and cooling project in the campus of Dagang Oilfield Research Institute will be officially put into operation in the heating season in 2021, successfully completing the task of ensuring supply during the first heating period. On May 24 this year, the ground source heat pump system was switched to the cooling mode for the first time. Compared with the original integrated direct combustion engine system of the central air-conditioning unit, the daily operating cost was reduced by 45%, and the annual carbon emission can be reduced by 1,300 tons.

Dagang Oilfield has accelerated the implementation of well site fence and rooftop photovoltaic projects based on its own actual conditions. In the first half of this year, it has completed photovoltaic power generation projects of over 140,000 MW, generating 8.7 million kWh. By the end of this year, the 48-megawatt photovoltaic power generation project will be officially connected to the grid, with an annual power generation capacity of about 65 million kWh, which can reduce carbon dioxide emissions by more than 50,000 tons. According to the plan, from 2021 to 2025, the installed capacity of wind and solar power generation in Dagang Oilfield will reach 650 MW, in order to promote the realization of clean energy replacement in oil and gas exploration and external clean energy supply. At the same time, a wind power generation facility with a total scale of more than 700 MW will be planned on the offshore oil and gas platform in the beach area to drive offshore oil and gas exploration.
