The Petroleum Safety Authority Norway has carried out an audit of Gassco focused on major accidents and emergency preparedness at Nyhamna. The audit was conducted on 14 and 15 June 2022.

Objective
The objective of the audit was to confirm that Gassco, together with the TSP (Shell), has established an emergency response system for major accidents that is in compliance with the regulations. We also sought to verify that findings from the previous emergency preparedness audit had been followed up.

Result
No non-conformities were identified.

Two improvement points were identified relating to:
• Radio communication in firefighters' helmets
• Counting of personnel in the event of an evacuation of Nyhamna

What happens next?
We have asked Gassco for an assessment of the improvement points observed. The deadline for reply is set at 30 September 2022.
